Dupion silk is a plain weave crisp type of silk fabric, produced by using fine thread in the warp and uneven thread reeled from two or more entangled cocoons in the weft. Hence dupion silkis durable and lustrous and resists wrinkles to some extent.
Dupion silk is woven from two different color threads so that it appears shimmery or changes colors in the light. Also a fabric is less smooth than other fabrics. Silkis generally quite light and breathable. However, keep in mind it does not stretch.
